Codex Sinaiticus

Commissioned by the British Library, this web and touchscreen interactive explored centuries of changes to Codex Sinaiticus, one of the oldest surviving Christian Bibles. It was created for From Parchment to Pixel: The Virtual Reunification of Codex Sinaiticus, staged at the British Library’s St Pancras site from 6 July to 7 September 2009 to mark the launch of the digitised manuscript.

The interactive gave visitors access to historic material, digital representations of the manuscript and a reconstruction showing how a specific page changed over time. The exhibition also brought together the story of the Codex’s virtual reunification while the British Library displayed both of its physical volumes together for the first time.
