Mixed reality concert experience

KAGAMI is a mixed reality concert experience that combines dimensional moving photography of Ryuichi Sakamoto with the physical performance space. Audiences use optically transparent headsets to see a virtual Sakamoto performing at the piano alongside spatial digital artwork synchronised to the music.

Presented in surround sound, the hour-long work is both collective and individual: audiences can experience it seated or move through the space to view the performance from different perspectives. The format uses mixed reality to preserve the intimacy of a live concert while opening new spatial relationships between performer, music, artwork and audience.
